Craig was kind enough to scan some of the artwork for Big Judy. These are scans of the artwork that they approved, so you’ll see writing and notes too. The packaging looks fantastic, and I can’t wait to see and hear it.

We are very excited about BIG JUDY, and I am urging her to do all she can to get out the word and do interviews etc. We’ve noticed some nice activity based around clips from Hootenanny on either My Space or You Tube. She wants to get her Garland appearance on You Tube as well- all of that type exposure being very good.

(I want to write more songs, make more records. and do more performing). So, the Rhino Handmade release is good for us both, imo. 2007 should be a year filled with heightened recognition of Judy’s talents, and opportunities for us to promote them via cds and live performing.

You’ll also find Chubby Checker’s version of “Hooka Tooka,” from the collection, Cameo Parkway: The Best of Chubby Checker, 1959-1963. And by the way, Dave Guard and the Whiskeyhill singers is NOT on iTunes yet.

I have begun uploading rare Judy Henske clips to YouTube. Here’s the first one: Judy on the Hootenanny TV show performing “High Flying Bird.” This aired on September 28, 1963.

The Chippewa Herald writes of Woody Allen’s inspiration for Annie Hall.

According to www.filmsite.org, comedian Woody Allen in the mid-1960s had a relationship with a folk singer, Judy Henske, who was born in Chippewa Falls.

So it may have been no coincidence that the lead female character in Allen’s “Annie Hall” in 1977 was from Chippewa Falls.

That’s about the extent of it, but no matter how small, it’s nice to see Judy mentioned in the news. Too bad they couldn’t interview her, or at least link to her site.

Judy’s official website is sporting a new look. There are some new additions as well, including a new interview in ROCKRGRL magazine.

Apparently, there is a Judy article in the latest issue of Discoveries (the issue with Brewer & Shipley on the cover).

Judy performs “Wade in the Water” and “Ballad of Little Romy.” Worth sitting through the movie just for those two songs.
