Judy’s Rare Single, “Road to Nowhere” on a New Compilation

Judy’s 1966 single, “Road to Nowhere,” has been released on a Jack Nitzsche compilation CD. The Jack Nitzsche Story: Hearing Is Believing contains 26 tracks and was released by Ace Records on May 10, 2005.

This is from what I call Judy’s “hidden period.” She released a few singles for Reprise (before or after “Death Defying Judy Henske,” I’m not sure which) that were produced and arranged by Jack Nitzsche.

I might be in the minority, but I love this period of Judy’s career. The combination of Nitzsche’s arrangements are infectious. “Day to Day” and “Dolphins in the Sea” are two other tracks that were released that year. I’m hoping there’s a whole unreleased studio album in the can that will someday see the light of day (yeah, dream on fella).

Available now from Amazon and other fine music establishments. CD Universe has audio samples. More info at the Ace Records website.
